TLC RENEWAL COURSE

To renew your TLC license, you are now required to complete a continuing education course as part of the renewal process.

This course lasts 4 hours and does not require an exam.

TLC License Renewal requirement:

Complete the TLC license renewal application
Complete the Renewal course
Drug Test (Call to book your appointment) (800) 923-2624
Complete the Defensive Driving Course (3 years)

Important: The course must be taken within 90 days before your TLC license expires, and it is required every three years. Be sure to complete it on time, as taking it late may result in additional fees, and failing to complete the course means you cannot renew your license.

CURSO DE RENOVACION DE TLC

Para renovar su licencia de TLC, ahora debe completar un curso de educación continua como parte del proceso de renovación.

Este curso dura 4 horas y no requiere un examen.

Requisito de renovación de la licencia de TLC:

Complete la solicitud de renovación de licencia TLC
Complete el curso de Renovación
Examen de drogas (llame para programar su cita) (800) 923-2624
Complete el curso de manejo defensivo (3 años)

Importante: el curso debe tomarse dentro de los 90 días antes de que expire su licencia de TLC y es obligatorio cada tres años. Asegúrese de completarlo a tiempo, ya que tomarlo tarde puede resultar en multas adicionales y no completar el curso significa que no puede renovar su licencia.

Do I need to take the TLC Driver Renewal Course?

If your TLC license expires within 90 days then YES!, you need to take this course as a new requirement to complete your TLC license renewal process.

WHAT ARE ALL REQUIREMENTS TO RENEW MY TLC Driver LICENSE?

Pay the $252 for the 3-year license to the TLC. www.nyc.gov/lars
Complete the TLC RENEWAL COURSE.

How much is the cost of the course?

The course cost is $150

How long is this course?

This course is 4 hours long and it includes a 30 mins brake, and a final practice.

How often do I need to take this course?

TLC drivers renewing their TLC license need to complete this course once every 3 years.

do i have to send a certificate to tlc?

NO, within 24 to hours the school will provide a report to TLC with the list of drivers who completed the course.

Are there any exams for this course?

No exams!

can I take this course online?

No. Due to the nature of the course, and the securement practice it requires, the TLC Renewal Course it is only available in person.
